Default 03 Blazer LS 4x4 - New Owner

So I got this Blazer on what I think is a steal for $1000, but KBB lists it at $5000 in top condition, so figured it was worth it, and after driving it a couple of days and putting 1000 miles on it, seems worth it. Unless after I describe these problems and someone tells me I got screwed. And I do apologize if this runs long.

That being said, I knew going in it would need a new ignition switch soon, and a tensioner pulley. It started for me fine the first day or two, but this morning wouldn't start at all. I heard the fuel pump, and battery is fine, but when turning the key I hear one small click that seems to come from the steering column. Went back a hour later and it started fine, and has throughout the day. Does that sound like an ignition switch gone bad? I only got the backup key in the deal, no remote and no owner's manual, so I'm not even sure it has a security system(or remote), however sitting in it I see a red light blinking on the radio, so I think it does. Could it have something to do with the security system and why it's not starting? It doesn't have a security light on. I can't really call a mechanic today, but I'm fairly mechanically inclined, although no knowledge to diagnose what's wrong. Is an ignition switch something a newby could tackle? Or what's the usual cost a mechanic would charge to fix it?

The tensioner pulley seems pretty straight forward and easy to get to, so I'm sure I can replace that when needed.

It has developed something while I've been driving it, and again not sure how to diagnose, but it seems to have a hard time shifting from first to second if I'm over 2000 rpms. If I keep it between 1500-2000, there's no jerk or hesitation. After that, it shifts perfect at any rpm. Also, while accelerating until about 20-30mph there's a slight rattling/scratching sound(that doesn't happen every time). After 30 though, it runs like a dream. Could that have to do with the tensioner pulley going bad? This is just my common sense way of thinking(I may be way off base) but if the trans was going bad, it would seem to me that it wouldn't shift perfect going from 1st to 2nd at any RPM level. Fluid levels are fine, and doesn't smell burnt or anything.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

My '03 LS 4x4 is doing the same thing with the 1-2 shift, it seems to jerk hard from 1-2, fine in any other gear.
