Default 05 back window and lift gate not opening

Like the title says my 05 extended trailblazer back glass window will not open nor will the tail gate open--any ideas--also both of the remote key fobs went dead about the same time could both batteries have died about the same time? Just got this car in July hope this isn't the start of more problems to come. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

wife picked up to new batteries for the fob keys and now the back will unlock as it should--but was still wondering why when I hit the unlock button on the door only the doors would unlock and not the back tailgate--could their still be a fuse blown? Thanks for the response.

Well same trouble again--don't think it was the batteries--after we changed the battery it worked as it should a few times from the fob key--then I got the bright idea to lock the car just using the door lock on the door--lockes all 4 doors except the rear hatch and tail gate--it will not lock--also the rear wiper will not work as well--mess around some more using the fob or the door lock switch--at times it works sometimes nothing--any ideas here--I think a sensor is going bad somewhere in a door panel

Sounds like the trigger for the rear hatch telling the BCM (body control module) that the rear hatch is open, thus, not allowing anything to lock, open, or operate.

I would first try lubricating the latch mechanism with some WD40 first to see if that loosens anything up inside. If it does, then try to dry the mechanism of all of the WD 40 (compressed air works good for this) and then re-lubricate it with some white lithium grease.
