134a Synthetic Freon, gimmick or not?
I was at walmart the other day and saw a blue can of Artic freeze 134a freon on the shelf. i picked it up and it said " synthetic freon cools temperatures up to 18 degrees more and 50% faster than regular freon. also removes acid buildup and mositure build up with leak sealer to" so does this stuff really work and is it safe to use in your system with existing regular 134a freon? any truth to it? or is it a gimmick?

Not sure whats so "synthetic" about it. All freon is synthetic. Its not like theres companies drilling for freon in the gulf. Its a gimmick.
Dont use the canned stuff. Get a proper A/C system evacuation done. This will remove all the old R-134a as well as any moisture and air that may have entered the system. Moisture and air enter the system when there is a leak. A full service will include a leak detection dye, so you know where and how severe the leak is.

Seriously? You know they sell regular 134a in cans, right?

mierze is correct, the best way to fix an A/C issue is to have an A/C check at a dealership, or quick lube place. Putting the freon in with cans doesn't tell you if you have a leak, air, or moisture in the line. It's also very easy to overcharge the system that way.
