Hey everyone,

Today as i was driving I realized that rather than shifting into gear as i was driving, it was just pushing harder in either 1st or 2nd, the RPM was hitting 5000 as my speed hit 50, worked fine at 20 mph. I have the Vortec 1995 Blazer. I have no check engine lights at the moment and I wonder what kinds of things can cause this? it may be worth noting that the last time i drove it 3 days ago, i was not having this problem and when I started driving today it was having the problem. any thoughts?

Do you have a check engine light on?

 

I would take it to autozone and have them check for any codes.

 

95 was a transition year. But an obd2 should work.

 

You can try some lucas in it. Some people have great luck with it, IMO, its more of a band aid. Worth the money to see if it helps though.

 

mine seems to be a little worse than something some lucas might help. I'll probably have to take it in, I was just hoping some basic things might be ones I could check myself first.
