Default 1996 Blazer 4x4 ABS light

Hey everyone,

Got a quick question I have the LS and about a week ago my ABS light came on but I have not had any issues braking or anything...so I am wondering what steps can I take to determine if its a sensor or something else so that I can replace or repair the issue...I did see that the 96 has a ABS pump and module so if anyone has had this issue what was it and best way to fix it...thanks

There is a WSS (wheel speed sensor) at both front wheels. Testing instructions is just a search away; hint - there's a link in the Tech Article (DIY) Index.

Mine is on too. I have a '96 Blazer LS 4x4. The last time I looked underneath the truck, the sensor wire on the driver's side was cut. There's a little loop of metal that is supposed to hold the wire in place, and it must've got caught on something the last time I went 4 wheelin'.

Still haven't gotten around to fixing it yet...it's easy to spot without even raising the truck off the ground or taking the wheels off.
