Depends on what bearing is going bad.
Are you sure that it is a bearing going bad or is it just blown lip seal? A lip seal is relatively easy to change.

not an expert so i am not sure, but it makes this grinding noise especially in the 10-25 mph range, what part is the lip seal?

It is the seal that keeps the oil in. A grinding noise is not good. The sooner you can get it fixed, the cheaper it will be. The aluminum front diff enclosures do not like bad bearings.

dont plan on fixing it, gonna be getting a new car so i just need this to last till then, my big worry is what will happen when what ever is grinding in there ceases up or explodes......are my front wheels gonna lock up.....nothing gonna happen? i wish i could just disengage the front drive axel but im told that i cant

Unless you have an AWD, you can disconnect the front diff by removing the front driveshaft (should not be spinning at all anyway when not in 4wd) and removing both front CV axles.
