Unhappy 1997 blazer vaccuum issues

Ok, so I had my engine replaced, and the mechanic put the vaccuum hose/s on wrong. So he took it/them off, and said it was still driveable but no 4x4. The heat is not working right either I dont know if this has something to do with this or not. The blower works, then doesnt and it gets stinky antifreeze smell. I see one hose that is tied around a metal pipe to keep it closed off, this must be what he took off, and I see where he took it off from it has a plug in it. I also see two really skinny red wires that should be clipped somewhere they dont fit together. Also a black wire plug with a blue clip thingie on the end of it that isnt plugged in anywhere and I dont see another end to plug it into. The mechanic said that he had to rewire my blazer because the engine was a newer one and that is why he put the vaccuum on wrong, I kept trying to get it back in to have it fixed but he wasn't there or didn't have time; and now he is closed!!! What a great guy. I would appreciate any help. Thanks so much.

The vacuum routing didn't change much over the years. The vacuum source on the engine didn't change at all and the only other change was the location of the vacuum reservoir in '98 where it moved from a ball under the hood to a box inside the driver side fender.
