1998 Blazer blinker

the blinker sound goes on intermitently without turning the blinker signals on.
The blinker works fine left and right. I checked the bulbs no problems. The flashers work too.
I noticed when the blinker sound comes on by itself, when I step on the brake it stops the sound, however at times the sound will continue
any suggestions?
thanks

The ticking noise you are refering to is actually the turn signal/hazzard flasher. It is located below the glove box in the upperpassenger side floor area. The problem is actually NOT the flasher but, your multifunction switch is going bad on your steering column( also called your turn signal switch ). Replacement switches are avaliable for around 100 bucks. Hope this helps.

Might want to try running a search as this topic has been discussed numerous times. You may not have to replace the entire switch as a replacement hazard switch is available and can be replaced quite easily.
