So I have a 1999 blazer 4.3L V6 w/ 3 button 4wd (2hi, 4hi, 4lo)
Sometimes when I start the blazer up the lights on the selector switch flash at first, then NO lights. Sometimes they work and show what gear I am in, sometimes not. I replaced the switch, and had a new transfer case motor installed about a year ago.
When I changed the switch, it became better, but right after I changed it, I pulled the neg. on the battery to "reset" and still nothing. Left it in the garage for an hour, started it up and voila! lights, functioning switch! It has worked for 2 days now, but I am worried that it will be hit or miss and murphys law says that "miss" will come in about a foot of snow. Why did it not automatically work? Why did it not work again after I took the negative off the battery? Why did it all of a sudden work an hour later? Could it be the TCCM? THATS PRICEY!!! $$$$

To clarify, the motor was changed a year ago, the selector switch was changed 2 days ago with the car off in the advance auto parking lot. Started it up, and drove home with no lights working on the switch. Decided to "reset" by pulling the negative, and still nothing a half hour later. started it up an hour later and it "works" now. I feel like I am on borrowed time, or it is just a band aid fix right now with how it has been acting.
