2000 ac compressor help needed

the clutch is throwing metal shavings out the front of the ac compressor so the clutch needs to be replaced.
i can't find the clutch separate from the compressor so i was thinking of going to a junkyard and pulling a compressor and separating the clutch.
what year compressors will work? and do other vehicles use the same compressor as the 2000 blazer.
thanks

Been there, tried that. Dont bother.. if you stress the replacement pulley in the least getting it off you'll be right back in the same boat.
Call autozone

Most those are in the reg dist centers. Ask where it is. I drove.
I think NAPA has them at $120 or so. Also prob in dist centers

I got mine off amazon for $25.. It was my bearing going bad so I had some time. Autozone doesnt sell them so you cant use the 'takeback' program.
You might just want to try the delete pulley and belt, tie the compressor SECURELY off to the side. Still cheaper than opening up the system in the long run.

Well.. I'm glad you dont do like most guys would and go to junkyard and get a compressor and just dump the gas in it , then fill it back up without proper procedure.
Sure.. it'll cool for a while esp if the lines arent disconnected long, and seem great but probably fail in a year or two and the next guy will have to replace almost everything

i might pick up the bearing too and see if it's just that. i'll buy both and see what one it is.
i might not be trading it in either. i had a guy call me and wants to trade me another vehicle so we'll see. but regardless it needs to get fixed

Trust me.. If you dont have a press, and you're not real careful that is NOT a good idea. How do you think I learned how fragile those clutch pulley faces are?
I had a press, made one little slip. Ruined.
Found two other compressors to take clutches.. both had been dropped and pulley web broken.
The next best idea is to get a used compressor, swap clutches and take back as core.
Check amazon for the tool
