Default 2000 Blazer Heater Core Shortcuts?

2000 Blazer LT
Are there any short cuts for changing out the heater core? I am sick of pulling dashboards and panel and brackets and you name it just to get at that little jewel in a treasure chest.

This guy says you can change it in an hour.

Another guy says there are two styles. If you get the other style it will take you 5 hours.

I would love to know if someone on the forum can confirm swapping out a heater core in an hour is possible.

Not having to disconnect all those wires would be great.

Doing the heater core and replacing my fuel pump are two jobs I've been hoping to avoid.

If a mech has done it a bunch of times maybe it would shorten the time some but one hour is a pipe dream I think; good way to get hits on your channel. My son has pulled the dash down without undoing that bunch of wires. He did lower the steering column though. It's an involved job, this one. I'd like to get my hands on the designers who put those things in those tight places.

I cut access holes in the floor above the fuel pumps wherever possible.

This link is very helpful. The guy takes it apart way more than is necessary but you get a real good schooling of how it all goes together.

This guy has some real good insight. If the bottom fasteners of the heat core housing are doable, his way will save you from just breaking them off like so so many people do.
