Default 2000 Chevy Blazer dies when given gas idles fine

It sits in the driveway and idles fine if you can get it out of the driveway without dying it will drive just fine till you get to a hill or get into another gear requiring more gas then it loses speed then dies. One computer said psi was low they told me to change the fuel pump didn't fix it. Hooked it up at a different shop to a bigger one they said injectors regulator sensors where fine psi stays good even when its dying even though it sounds like its running out of gas when they would rev the engine and it would die said computer on blazer was bad changed it and the fuel filter because it was clogged and the same problem is there didn't fix it at all does anyone know what's wrong with it I have a small child that has medical issues and this is our only vehicle and I don't have the money to get another one.

Welcome to the forum!

Does the service engine soon light come on when you initially turn the ignition to the RUN position, and then shut off? Does it blink while driving? Are there any trouble codes in memory? Does the engine misfire or backfire while driving?

The first shop said fuel pressure was low: The Powertrain Control Module, (PCM) and their scan tool, can not check fuel pressure on this vehicle, it must be checked with a fuel pressure tester. If they actually checked it, they would have known the pump was not the problem.

Sounds like the second shop at least checked the fuel pressure and found that it remains ok during the stall. This is a helpful bit of information, if it's true. The problem here is they made an expensive misdiagnosis, which means their diagnostic abilities are questionable.

If it's true, there might be a restriction in the exhaust, which causes symptoms similar to what you described. The fuel delivery system can't be ruled out as a possible problem until it's checked properly. If you are comfortable working on the vehicle, we can help you with diagnosis. It will require some hand tools, wrenches sockets, etc, and a fuel pressure tester. You can rent the fuel pressure tester at most auto parts stores.
