My wife is the normal driver of the truck, it has never done this while I was driving. about 130K, normal truck, never trashed or beat up. It has the auto4WD deal on the dash. What happens is my wife is driving at a low speed in a parking lot, has to stop for some reason, when she takes off again it's in 4LO.

My son was with her, sez the 4LO light was on. They stopped, hit 2Hi, waited a sec, took off, still 4LO. pulled off onto a side street, stopped, put it in park, hit 4HI, waited longer, drove off in 2HI.

This has happened a couple times lately. I've never fooled with the 4WD stuff except I fixed a vacuum leak where a bunch of hoses meet near the brake booster. I forget now why I got started on that.

Any bright ideas? I see a lot of posts here about the 4WD stuff, but mostly about it not working, the opposite of the problem I've got.
