2001 4wd blazer rear rotor replacement
Hey I am new to the forum but i have long lurked here when i needed to find questions about my blazer. Awesome forum guys. Seriously you have been a lot of help already.
But alas I have a problem taking off the rear rotors on my my blazer.
The calipers come off just fine but it feels like something is holding the rotors into place still. They turn freely but when we try to pull it off it feels almost as it gets tighter and will no longer spin.
We tried whacking it with a hammer but to no avail. I ended up checking out one of the haynes maintenance books but there literally was nothing in there about the rotors.
So i am at a loss. Should i just hit harder? Are they just rusted on there? Or am i missing something that needs to come apart before i can replace this.
Hopefully its just a silly mistake on my end but if you guys could add some input it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much

They are probably rusted on. Remember, inside the rotor is a drum for the emergency brake. Get a bigger hammer, they will come off.
Note that if you are replacing your rear brake pads, your calipers will likely seize, be prepared to replace the calipers also.
