Paraitic drains can be extremely hard to find. However if you do solve the probs, you save a lot of $$. A whole lot of $$.

 

Dave, the driver's side door sag you mention is , I think, due to worn door hinge bushing. The driver's side door gets all the wear. I have seen several good write up's on how to replace them. It apparently is a difficult job, especially done by one person. The parts are not too expensive.

 

Thanks for the info on the door. Weather forced setting the battery drain prob aside for awhile - many days aren't getting above 15 for awhile.

Put a battery disconnect switch on it, leave the battery disconnected unless driving it. Running the Blazer every 3 or 4 days, however it's been parked a week so it needs to be run.

Don't need to pull fuses to check for battery drains. With a multitester set it for DC volts, put one lead on the one spot on the fuse, other lead on the other spot. Fuses have 2 little spots which are contacts. With battery connected, everything shut off, there should be no voltage on this test. If there is, there's a drain through that fuse. Cover of the fuse box has symbols, owner's manual for the car explains symbols. Some fuses have a number of seemingly unrelated things getting current through that fuse.

 

For now get a battery shutoff switch. Only an inch and a half depth to put it in, bought a knife switch. Only drawbacks are opening and closing the hood every time to make sure it doesn't sit more than an hour or two, and the hood latch will go in time. Driver's door - I just pulled the fuse on that. Trying to find a remote shutoff switch that will fit in that inch and a half.
