My 2001 Chevy Blazer 4 wheel drive stopped working. The light on the 4hi button is on but the front wheels don't engage. Does anyone know of a simple solution to check for before i send it off to a mechanic?

Look at my post. Check both the vacuum switch to make sure the ballbearing isn't stuck and the acuator.

Now, tell us a little more about your situation... 3-button or 4-button dash switch? What have you checked? Have you tried searching the forum? The topic of malfunctioning 4wd has been discussed many times before.
