Low voltage isn't good for the ignition system, but it shouldn't cause no spark at all unless the voltage is really low.

I would take the battery out and get it tested if you can.

Unhappy

i'll take it to get tested tomorrow, kinda stuck at home with no vehicle right now if i buy a new battery and i still dont have any spark, what should i try next? already replaced the ICM and coil.

o.k. now that it quit raining......the coil is sending spark to the distributor, but it isn't getting to the plug's....cam positioning sensor? hopefully some one will check out this thread and get back to me.

I think the most likely cause now would be the rotor or distributor cap. Check and make sure the contacts are not burned, and that nothing is cracked or broken..If you have enough battery power to crank the engine it's plenty enough to give you a spark.

Are there any new updates? Was your problem fixed? How did you fix it? I'm having an extremely simular problem and I'm at a loss for what to do!

I had the same thing happen to me. Turns out i busted the gear on the distributor. I has happen to me twice. After the second time I bought a brand new distributor and put in it and i didnt make it a block away from the shop and it was running terrable. Shop said that breaking that gear so much messed up my cam shaft. alot to replace. So i took it home and with a sawzal and a hammer i had the cat cut off and it was running great. It turns out it was so clogged that i guess it was building up so much back pressure it was putting a stain on the motor.

" i was on my way home the other day.. on the high way doing about 70mph . it just all of a sudden died i pulled it to the shoulder and tried to re-start it but all it would do is roll over but not fire..so i had it towed home . i know these thing's are famouse for fuel pump's going out so that was the first thing i checked.... "

Ignition switch is what I would replace. What you experienced is what many have had happen. There are many write-ups on ignition switch failure. A battery problem often won't be an issue when the engine is running. Intermittent igntion switch failures often act like a fuel pump failure

Spend the $70 for a AC/Delco switch and the two hours of labor. You likely will be glad you did.
