So I recently bought a 2001 Chevy Blazer 4dr 4x4 with 103k miles. The thing drives great and there’s no issues other than water leaking onto the drivers floor.
Everytime it rains, the drivers floor carpet gets soaking wet.
The weatherstrips are all good, and I have confirmed the leak isn’t coming from the door to body rubber boot, or the hinges.
I took off the foot parking brake, and took out all the sound deadening foam on the back of the dash behind the foot parking brake, and had someone spray water specifically into the windshield cowl. I also took out the cowl covers and the widow wiper assembly inside the cowl. When we poured water into the cowl, there was water dripping in the corner behind the dash behind the foot parking brake. Water was coming from deep up in there. I sprayed some flex seal inside the cowl, and I also tried putting some silicone rtv all over behind the dash near the parking brake, and that slowed down the leak, but it did not fix the leak completely.
does anybody know where the water is entering from? It’s gotta be in the cowl, since water came in when we poured water into the drivers side of the cowl.
This has to be a very common issue with these blazers and s10’s, so please anybody that has experienced this issue and found a way to fix this, please tell me how you did it. Also, it any of you have any advices please let me know.
