here are a few of my thoughts:
did u replace the fuel filter when u replaced the fuel pump? Also did u use a quality name brand replacement pump? if u answer no to one or both of these then its possible that ur pump is bad again.

Try spraying a shot of starting fluid directly into the throttle body, if it fires right up and runs for a few seconds then u can be pretty sure that u have a fuel delivery issue and not an ignition issue. Also u should check the fuel pressure with a gage to make sure u are getting approx 60psi. If u have a plugged filter, or leaky line u wont get enough fuel to the engine which explains hte no start and poor performance. It also would explain the odor of gas

I had problems with starting even though after it was started our Blazer seamed to run fine. Turned out to be the pump. Check the pressure during cranking , not just after It is started.

Alright guys thanks for the info. I'll pick up a fuel pressure gauge today. Where will I hook the gauge to?

This diagram shows the location of the fuel pressure test port.

Default Fuel pressure drops to 0! No start condition

Ok so I've had a no start condition for a couple days and finally tracked down the problem. I got a fuel pressure gauge and when I first turn the key on it jumps up to 62psi, but with in a few seconds it bleeds all the way down to zero? What could make it loose that much pressure? Delphi fuel pump and filter are only about 6 months old and I just replaced the regulator, because that was my first guess. Thanks

fuel leak? only reason i could see it gaining pressure really quickly then losing it. or is there a check valve on the pump that could pressurize then lose it.

*COMBINING THREADS*
Since this is a continuation of the same problem let's keep it all in one thread so we can follow what you have done.

Have you followed through the diagnostic steps in the link I supplied? They will lead you to the cause of the pressure drop.

You have to get the proper fittings to attach your pressure gauge at the fuel filter. The information is posted in other threads. You basically need to go from the tube fitting at the filter to a JIC connection. I can't remember the sizes off the top of my head, but I know they are posted.
