Default 2001 S-seires Blazer , drivers door hinge $#!+ the bed...

I'm the third or more owner of a blazer and one or more of the owners had worked the drivers door hard and the hinges and badly warn. I've changed the pins on both but the holes are too big and it split the bushing day one after install. GM doesn't have a hinge in parts listings. so I'm assuming the hing is welded in place at the factory.
replacing a bolt-on hinge would be done already...
I'm thinking of welding the hole over and trying to re drill the holes back into it but that is really tough with the space available...
Anyone have a run at blazer door hinges with a win in the end???

I made a scan of the replacement of the door hinges from my GM service manual for my 1999 Blazer for someone else. In principle it can be done but I don't know how hard it would be. (see attached) Basically, you scribe where the current hinges are now, chisel off the old hinge, drill holes where the welds are, and then bolt in a replacement. A quick search for the door hinges showed that they are discontinued but some GM parts places might have them and they are on eBay. Dorman also appears to have some.

Good luck.

Try to have a look at these. They bolt in and replace the whole hinge. Might as well get welded on.
