Default 2003 blazer compass/temp display problem

I'm wondering if anyone know what would cause the overhead compass/temp display to only work intermittently? It seems to be off more then on but I don't see any type of pattern of when it does/doesn't work. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with my 99' blazer. It started out just like how you say. I use to tap on the display to get it back on. Now it does not come on at all.

Hope you get yours fixed.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Tapping as never made it turn on for me, even when the taps turned in to punches.

@RetroBlazer, excuse my ignorence, but can you please tell me what the 'DIC' is?

DIC is the driver info. center also can be called the driver info. system as well or the overhead display.

Had to look it up myself as well.
