Default 2004 Key Stuck in Ignition

I was towing the Blazer, and to keep from dropping the shaft or ruining the trans I left it running.NowI can't remove the key and it will not idle. i have to start and leave immediately. After I have been driving for a while it runs fine. I also have been disconnecting the battery every night so it doesn't kill the battery. I read some of the older replies regarding this problem, but I do not see the pin under the lock to release the key. Is the 04 different. And does this have anything to do with the security system?
