Default 2005 Rear wiper arm problem

2005 Gmc Jimmy. My rear wiper had not worked for about 2 years. It was putting out a few drops of fluid only. I ran the wiper for about 50 minutes over 2 days, and it eventually cleaned out the lines and now it works.

The wiper arm does not touch most of the window, only about 10% hits. Do I bend the arm, or the wiper, or replace the spring in the wiper? Suggestions please. The wiper was replaced a year ago, the old one did not hit the window also.

Thank you to everyone who responds.

you could just bend the end of the arm, but that won't change the fact that the sping is not exerting the proper amount of pressure on the arm. it almost sounds like the pivot pin has siezed up a bit. have you tried taking off the arm, and spray some lube on the pivot area, working it back & forth to see if it'll free up?

i wouldn't bother with replacing the spring, grab a better one from your local JY, if you can't free it up.
