The Chev engines like nothing but ac delco parts, I tried autolite in mine and it ran ok for awhile but had to replace them, get an acdelco cap and rotor and see if that dont solve your problem

Well that's confusing on the reading. But here's what I cant understand. Even if you asked the exact question on a Ford forum, they would say:
Use the OE brand.. AC Delco
If Ford, order of fitment Motorcraft, Autolite, ACDelco
If Gm, AC Delco, Autolite... yadda, yadda

Not like AC Delco isnt on the shelves, If it isnt go to different store.

HOWEVER... you didnt specify what wires you used. They are critical. I learned long ago to keep the OE wires for a while if I replaced with aftermarket brand. And that lowest priced wires were prone to fail right out of box.

I use ACDelco wires on my Blazer as they are the OE for GM. Motorcraft is OE for Ford. But a lot of people have their favorite brand for replacement parts, and that is ok, to each his/her own, personally i use ACDelco on all my GM vech, well except my race car
