Default 4 wheel drive and adapter?

My 4 wheel will not engage. And also what is the three prong plug in on the driver side part of engine? 96 blazer

Default RE: 4 wheel drive and adapter?

It is probably the vacuum plug that is supposed to be connected to the vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case... One port should have constant engine vacuum. Another should run to the front axle actuator under the battery tray. The last should be a vent.
