I have a 1995 S-10 Blazer, and my issue is the tabs on the front unit that the front axles go to are broke off.My question is can this unit possiblly come out of the vehicle while going down the road.
My next question is seeing the wheels are tied to this unit by what of the axles can i take the axles out and take them apart and put just the part that goes through the bearing back in to keep the bearing from blowing out.
thanks for your input

I am actually thinking about trying to convert it yo a 2wd if that is possible. been searching the net but havent had any luck with it.. found tons of 2wd to 4x4 conversions but not the other way around.

ok ive been reading some of these conversion threads..i dont want to do a complete conversion..what i want to do is this
remove front driveline
remove cv shafts
re-install outer yoke to keep bearings from blowing apart
i want to set the truck down some ( i have alot of body roll) how much will it lower the truck down by adjusting the torsion bars..the rear will be easy to lower down.
thanks for any input

You've got the right idea to make it 2WD but, DON'T fool with the torsion bars. They are for adjusting front chassis ride height. If it's out of spec you can expect rapid wear of suspension and steering linkage parts.

Check this thread, there's some good info in it: Lowering Tech - Blazer Forum - Chevy Blazer Forums
Just remember, if chassis ride height is out of spec, you will have problems.
