Assuming there are only 3 buttons on the 4WD switch, there are 5 fuses for the 4WD.
In the underhood fuse block, ATC fuse 20 amp, must show battery voltage on both terminals at all times.
In the instrument panel fuse block, CTSY fuse #8, 10 amp, must show battery voltage on both terminals at all times.
In the instrument panel fuse block, ILLUM fuse #5, 10 amp, should show battery voltage on both terminals when the courtesy lights are on.
In the instrument panel fuse block, 4WD fuse #15, 10 amp, must show battery voltage on both terminals when the ignition is in the RUN position.
In the underhood fuse block, CRANK fuse, 10 amp, must show battery voltage on both terminals when the ignition is in the CRANK position.
In the underhood fuse block, BTSI fuse, 10 amp, must show battery voltage on both terminals with the ignition in the RUN position and the transmission in NEUTRAL and PARK positions.
Post your results.

These switches are prone to have broken solder joints inside, pop the switch out of the dash and with the key on, push on the connectors on the back of the switch, of you get lights then you have broken solder joints, if youre handy with a soldering iron you can pop the switch apart and reflow the cracked joints, nothing fancy, theres videos on youtube showing how to do it.
If thats not it then you have a more serious electrical issue.

I suspected the switches to be bad because they were a little rough looking. I dident actually check them I just ordered a new one and I am out of town till next week so when I get back I will be digging into this and will post what I find. Thanks for the help
