Hi all!
First thank you all for all the threads out there. I have looked for this but wasn't able to find anything so here goes.
I have a 2000 blazer and I have been fighting the 4x4 engagement since I got it running. (new plugs/wires, fuel pump)
What I am looking for is I think my issue is that the collar is not engaging the right wheel when swapping to four wheel drive. I remember seeing a youtube video that claimed you could swap the two piece axle there with one from an Oldsmobile Bravada. Yes I know this will hurt my gas mileage but I would rather not have to try and fight this damn thing any more. Does anyone know of a guide/video that covers this? I want to do my research before I go pull one outa a junk yard.
Thank you,
Crystal

It's a pretty simple swap. You remove the two piece axle stuff and install the Bravada tube and axle in its place. You may want to look around the net and see if any trimming is required on the axle shaft itself. I've installed them and didn't trim but I've read that some folks do.

I am no help regarding your Bravada axle question; but why not just fix what you have? The sliding collar is pretty easy to access and probably a lot easier to get new parts and cheaper, than to find a Bravada front axle.
The common problem is the cable that pulls the collar over gets rusty/stuck or the vacuum actuator under the battery has a leaking diaphragm.
What is the problem you are having?
