4x4 issues
Hey guys, I have a 97 blazer. Its a zx2 with 130k. I just encountered some 4x4 issues and I have rulled out the transfer case considering that the front drive shaft will spin in four wheel. Im going to start by checking the actuator. Is there a way i can see if it is opperating correctly. I hate to go in and replace all the hoses unless I have to. Thanks a ton.

The front drive shaft always spins because the front left axle is always engauged. Can you hear the encoder motor? Can you hear the tccm making any noise? Lights on the 4x4 buttons flashing? What are your issues?

I just encountered a problem with my 4x4 also. Searched the threads and couldn't find much.
No problems prior to yesterday but the darn thing wont work anymore.
When ever i try to shift out of 2HI which ever mode i try to engage just starts flashing at me.
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with an automatic electronic transfer case (2HI, 4HI, $4LO, AUTO).
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

my bad i didnt notice you said 97 blazer, between 99 and 02 the front drive shaft always spins ( i have two 01's and i know they always spin). On my ZR2 i actually pulled the battery and relocated the actuator to the fan shroud so if i have any future problems i can check it alot easier or even lock it in manually if necessary. So the answer to your question is pull the battery unbolt the actuator and get it out from under the battery. you can squeeze it by hand to see if the cable is siezed up. If so reconnect the battery and switch back and forth between 2wd and 4wd and you'll know if its not working cause the rubber bladder will inflate and deflate when switched.
