I did the front axle swap on my 97 blazer last winter and so far everything is working very well. I get 4 wheel hi and lo. and haven't noticed any dramatic MPG difference. I think tho that blazers are gas guzzlers anyways. I just wanted to thank everyone on this site for giving me the positive feedback. posted some pics on the whole ordeal somewhere on this site. I also replaced the spark plugs and removed the hard one on the drivers side by putting a spark plug socket on it (it has a hex head on it) and turning it out with an open end box wrench. Didn't have to unbolt the steering linkage or anything else or buy any special tools. I also replaced the power steering pump without having to remove fan, shroud, high pressure hose or removing the pulley while on the vehicle. there are about 6-7 various nuts and bolts to remove (have to look hard for a few of them) and the whole unit with pulley intact is pulled forward and up and out. Then remove pulley and hose and bracket on bench. And pitman arm was replaced also with help from a video from 1Aauto. The pickle fork wasn't long enough to get a good swing so I slid a 24" steel pipe over it and it was then able to get much more room to beat the hell out of it to pop it loose. the truck is operating just fine so far and thanks again to everyone on this site. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!
