5 speed wont go into 1st or 2nd without a few attempts especially when cold?

5 speed wont go into 1st or 2nd without a few attempts especially when cold?
My 2005 blazer 4.3 5speed started acting up in the last couple of days. Started it yesterday and went to put it into first and would not go into gear...it was like the shift handle was hitting a wall and the clutch would not let it in...did the same for second... Where do I start? There is plenty of fluid in the clutch master cylinder in the engine bay....should I try to bleed the system or maybe the gear oil is old in the transmission? Thanks in advance for the help.
