Default 95 Blazer 4.6L Vortec Sputters

Hey guys, i'm new here, searched forums and couldnt find an answer to my issue. so here i go........

I have a 95 blazer 4.6 vortec i know for a fact i need a new battery (i have to jump it every time i start it) however the bigger issue is occasionally when i try to stat it it will turn over very slow however speeds up and eventually starts if i hold the key forward. The other issue is when driving if i push very slow/gental on the peddle (speeding up slower than a GMA) The truck drive fine but if i push it with any force the engine sputters and losses almost all fuel pressure.....

Sorry if my post is confusing or doesn't make sense. Any advice, help, critisism, is all appreciated! Thank you guys!

The first thing I'd do is throw a new fuel filter in it.

If that fixes it, that could be the only issue. If the problem continues with a new fuel filter, you'll need to get fuel pressures at the test port and at the fuel filter after it primes, and 10 minutes or so after that (to see if it's leaking down). If the problem persists with a new filter, post those 4 fuel pressure readings (at test port after prime, 10 minutes later, at fuel filter after prime and 10 minutes later).

Awesome, Thank you! I will get back with the results ASAP.

Do you recommend and specific brand for fuel filter?

Also its 4.3L not 4.6..... Sorry >.

I prefer Wix fuel filters. Wix 3481 (best) or 33481 (good), Napa Gold 3481 or even Napa Proselect (used to be "Silver") 23481 all work well. I can't find the CarQuest #, but they also sell Wix filters as their "house brand" filters.

AC Delco GF652 or GF652F will also work.

as far as the idle speeds have you ever clean you IAC? the IAC controls the idle and keeps the engine from suffocating when you dont have the throttle open

i have also just replaced my fuel filter with the same one Racer_X suggested

If you have rough running or stalling at idle, definitely clean both the plunger on the IAC and the air passages in the throttle body behind, above and below the IAC.

It's best to pull the throttle body off to clean the passages.

The IAC plunger is smooth and shiny when it's clean. The passages are bright aluminum. When I cleaned mine, I got enough charcoal out of it to have a barbecue.

Use throttle body/intake cleaner (get at least two cans) and a toothbrush to clean the air passages and the IAC plunger. Be careful not to break off the plunger on the IAC when cleaning it. You almost never need to replace that IAC, but if you are too aggressive with it when cleaning, it will break. Don't ask me how I know this.
