95 blazer 4wd problems
hello, i have been reading thru this forum for days now and havent found a thread with my issues. i have a 95 with the nv233 3 button transfer case. 4 low has always worked and it would always go back to 2hi but wouldnt go into 4 hi so last night i changed the transfer case vac switch and unhooked the battery for an hour and when i tried it it went into 4 lo fine and switched to 4 high also, but it will not go back into 2 high now, i push the button and you hear it trying to switch but doesnt. Here is the thing i dont get, i drove around the block to try to see if that may help and i didnt notice the tires skidding when i turned sharply so i got back and jacked it up and the front tires spin freely eventhough 4high is lit up. ive looked thru pages and pages of this site and havent came across this, anyone got any ideas

this just popped into my head as i was re reading this so i went out and crawled under and the driveshaft going to the front axle is locked in and i cant turn it so would that mean there is a problem with the front diff. or the vacuum actuator? i had the battery out and i can push in and out on it and it moves about 3/4" of an inch, is that correct? is this safe to drive like this?

ok it seems when i remove the battery and re install it the 4wd works but onlt 2 or 3 times 4lo still always works but 4 hi goes in and out a few times and then there is nothing as far as clicking down by transfer case and the button just flases 5 times and lights up 2hi again. for some reason it doesnt do anything when in drive or reverse, but will only flash in neutral. the vacuum actuator is good and holds air but i can only move it in about 3/4 to 1 inch, does this seem correct. do you think i need an encoder motor? is there a way to manually shift into 4hi?
thanks
