95 Blazer Transmission Fluid & Filter Change
If I remember correctly, I had quite a time removing the transmission pan when doing the last fluid/filter change. What is the best way to get clearance to drop the transmission pan? The exhaust pipe on mine is just enough in the way that I had to remove it last time. Anyone have a better way? Or is that how it's normally done by all?
From what I have read here on this forum, the 95's require removing the crossover pipe assy. 96+ are much easier as all one has to do is unbolt the trans mount and lift the whole trans/transfer case 2" for a clear pan drop.
Oh good. Well at least it'll be a bit easier this time around since I put new studs in the exhaust manifolds over summer and they still look in pretty good shape. Anyone know if you have to replace the donut gaskets when doing this or just put the old ones back in??
What a pain that job is!! I noticed my 96 is different, the pipe is farther forward so the pan clears without having to remove the pipe.
I reused the donuts on mine (the 95) when I replaced the filter/gasket 5 or 6 years ago. Be careful not to drop or crack them.
