My blazer(30K miles on reman engine)has been running bad for mo's.
Miss when idling and at all speeds. Also smelled gas, especially when idling.
Did normal tune up and also replaced spider(cmfi), map sensor, and IAC. TPS had been replaced abt a year ago and it not act like that was the problem. I suspected a vacuum leak this whole time but could not find one.
It has been running rich. This past week, I started having overheating problems. Replaced thermostat, temp sensor and flushed system. Since then, the temp will not go below 220 except when thermostat opens(at abt 215) and then goes back up. I now have white smoke coming from exhaust.I pulled plugs today to do a compression test and when #1 was tested, I got 124 psi and when I hit the release on the tester, coolant sprayed out. Could not test #3 as I could not get fitting in plug hole but all the others have 148-150 lbs. I tested # 1 again and got 140 but still got coolant when releasing the pressure. A third test on #1 went back to 124 lbs with more coolant in my face. Which makes more sense; lower intake or head gasket?

your going to have to pull the lower to pull a head off, i would start with the lower and check the gasket when you have it off.

do you have coolant in your oil? if you do get it fixed fast! Also if you do replace your valve cover gaskets so you can get a look and see if there is coolant corroding there and you can clean it up, and I believe there is a special oil you can use for 500 miles to get the rest of the coolant out of your crankcase
