ok so i got this 95 2 dr 4x4 s10 blazer with the w 4.3 vortec. i know i have a cracked flywheel but havent had time to replace it (got the new one waitin for it) was goin to work and it was surging bad, next thing i know it just shuts off. i get it pulled to the shop and i start doin basic diag on it. checked for fuel, gettin fuel. checked for fire, got fire. tried new plugs (its kept her from runnin before) still nothin. so i tried to see if she would start on carb cleaner, sure as hell she did. it cant be the fuel filter cause i opened the line comin off it and its comin out like fire hose. im thinkin those plastic fuel lines under the intake might have worn out again but im not sure, need a second or third opinion on what to do. thanks guys

This is a CMFI fuel delivery system with OBD1.5 (not fully OBDII compliant). It has one fuel injector and it's batch fired, which means any time any cylinder calls for fuel, all 6 get a shot. Inside the plenum along with the injector, there is a fuel pressure line, a fuel return line and the fuel pressure regulator. Each one of those components can leak, and they do. When they leak it will cause poor performance, no start, poor fuel economy, etc etc. If the fuel leak is not repaired, raw fuel will drain into the crankcase, dilute the oil, and destroy engine bearings.
Most auto parts stores sell/rent fuel pressure testers, you'll need one to diagnose this problem. Key ON, engine OFF, fuel pump running, fuel pressure must be 55psi to 61psi, and it must remain above 50psi for at least 10 minutes after the fuel pump shuts off. This test will check fuel pressure and leakdown. If pressure drops below 50psi in less than 10 minutes, there is a leak. This test does not tell where the leak is, it only tells if there is a leak and further diagnosis is necessary to determine where the leak is, (could be in the plenum, could be in the tank, or it could be external). Post the results of the test.
