Hello everyone,
i have a 1995 Chevy Balzer, that will not crank over, i took off the stater and had it tested and it passed, i reinstalled the same starter to the truck and the problems still there. what seems to happen is that the starter clicks and its notturningthe flywheel/ torque conveter, maybe after 10-15 clicks of the key i get a small crank and a backfire soundanyone have any ideas whats going on

how was the truck before?, could be the actual wiring to the starter motor, if there is too much voltage drop withing the wiring, the starter will have a real hard time trying to start.

Ya..what he said^^^^^......Had the same problem as you, I replaced the starter and still had the same problem. My battery cable to the starter was damaged, so I replaced it, the Blazer started, but two days later the problem returned. Turns out that the guy I got the Blazer from had put a new battery in it, but...the idiot put a 400cca battery in it. You should have a Battery with at least 575 CCA. Also do not keep cranking over the starter with a weak battery, The instructions that came with the starter I had bought stated that low voltage will damage the starter and its true...I damaged my new Starter by try to start it with the piece of crap battery..lucky for me I purchased the lifetime warranty starter. It just sucks having to install it in a 4wd twice. I now have a 900cca battery in my Blazer.

thanks everyone,
the truck had been setting disconected from the battery for a day or two while i was changing out the pressure regulator value under the manifold, but befor that the the truck would start fine. the battery is a 524 cca. i been reading around could it be that the flywheel/ torque converterhas to much pressure build up? something about TTC or maybe a fuse somewhere??

Definitely check the battery then. Sometimes when you unhook them for a period of time they'll drop voltage for whatever reason. Batteries can be finicky like that.

For a Battery I reccomend a Optima Red or Yellow Top, I have the YellowTop, its an amazing Battery, my truck fires right up.

a loose batttery connection will also cause your no start problem. Make sure the cables are clamped down tight.
