Default 95 cheve blazer bogging out

we have a 1995 chev blazer 4x4 4.3 vortec engine--we had some problems with it stuttering at around 30-40 km per hour it would usually do it 3 to 4 times then it would be fine in overdrive--in drive it wouldnt do it--so we took it to a garage an they told us it just needed a tune up plugs and wires and fuel filter so we did that--not the problem it still did it so we took it to another place and they said that the EGR valve was working but not at 100%, and the fuel pump was noisy and that it would go soon, ok -- well the fuel pump went and we changed that-- it ran but still did the same thing as it first did--now our problem is its bogging out when u get into drive it seems like it wants to stall all the time and when u go to give it some gas sometimes its like ur not stepping on the gas or anything then it gives in and goes but it keeps doing the boggin out thing--so we figured cuz we fixed the fuel pump maybe the EGR valve was done for too--so we bought the part--300 dollars later changed it--well its still doing it!!!! Plz help !!!

sounds like a couple of things... dont just throw parts at the problem though... you can easily check things like the EGR instead of just buying a new one...

why not buy and install a new cat and pre-cat as they could be plugged...
your MAF might be fouled so you could buy a new one of those...
your o2 sensors are probably old, so you're gonna need to throw a few of them at it...
sounds like your headers didn't seal to the block, so you might want some more... they should be replaced in pairs...

Well assuming that you are going to different shops because the previous just PUT something on the truck without fixing it, AND assuming that the new Fuel Pump is 100%, the filter is good, the new egr was hooked up correctly, plugs, wires, and what ever else they did (dist and rotor too mayhaps? how's your air filter look?) THEN you could have a number of things worth checking.

use search to check how to clean your MAF
use search to see how a plugged cat causes your truck to drive and how to check you cat's
use google to see what kind of replacement air filter you need (if yours looks like a lint trap after 3 loads of drying)

do you have any check engine lights? there is a ton that can be wrong...
ever put siesel through it?

it would be worth your time to chat with some folks you know and find a reputable shop in your area. instead of just pulling up to what ever the iPhone said was near by, go to a place other people have had a good experience (or 3 or 4) with and build a relationship with that joint. Will help you out in the long run as well.

yeah sorry, Catalytic Converter <-- inside melts down plugging off your exhaust flow = crappy running

MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor. little box in the middle of the tubing running from the air clearner box to the throttle body

egr = Exhaust Gas Recyling valve <-- search those 3 for pics and more info on care

go to a car parts store (autozone, shucks/o'reilly, napa) and borrow their code reader. pull your codes. since you are a 95 you might be an odd reader style. ODB II or OBDI.5 i guess. anyway they will hook you up and you can pull your codes and compare them to the step by step code break downs on this forum.

welcome to the show.

since this is for new member intro's, you'll probably want to check out the 2nd Gen S-series Tech section for what members are experiencing with their trucks and possible solutions.
