I have a '93 S-blazer with a 4.3 W motor. Check the magnet in the "polepeice" or "shaft" for the distributor, mine was cracked in a couple of places causing a "North and South effect for the pick up coil. Engine would start barely. Not bad replacing but diagnosing was a bitch. Good luck.

Test your crank position sensor and ignition control module. Pull a plug wire, any one will do. Take out the spark plug and stick it back into the plug wire. Now pull the coil to distriburator wire at the coil end. Hook the spark plug wire with the plug in it, into the coil. Put the plug next to the exhaust manifold (use insulated pliers to hold plug wire) and have someone crank the engine. If no spark, pull the Ignition control module and take it to your favorite autoparts store for testing. Call first, AZ didn't have a harness for my 2000. If the ignition control module checks out good, then its your crank position sensor. Its located by the harmonic balancer.

Make sure you have plenty of grease between the ignition control module and the plate it attaches too. The grease dissapates heat, without it you'll fry your IGM in no time.

Edited to add this.
You could have spark even if the IGM or Crank position sensor are bad. However it won't be controlled, timed correctly.
