Default 95 has a miss

A friend's 95 Blazer has a miss and I am trying to help him resolve the problem. He said it is more noticeable under accelleration. Some of the parts that has been replaced are the distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, egr valve, coil, rectifier and fuel injector spider. I don't believe all these parts were replaced trying to chase down the miss. Anyway, someone also said that it might be #6 that has the miss.

I'm just visiting them till the end of the week and am trying to help him out. He doesn't have a computer and don't know about using the internet.

Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do a compression test
Do a cylinder contribution test , ie - pull off plug wires 1 by 1 and try and figure out which cylinder its on

Got some more information regarding the vehicle. Someone at O'Reilly's Auto Parts connected something to the vehicle and said it indicated a miss on #6.

Also found out that the catalytic converter was bypassed with a straight pipe. Can this cause the miss/hesitation? I used to have a 1980 Toyota pickup and it came to life after removing the catalytic converter and left the oxygen sensor hanging.

Anyway, my friend bought the Blazer not too long ago and is registered in east Tennessee where they don't have a smog test requirement. Some people still burn their trash back here.

I will be flying back to California Saturday and will relay new information to my friend in Tennessee.

Thanks again.

Yep, my 1980 Toyota Pickup came with an oxygen sensor. Part is available at Autozone.com if you would like to check.

Anymore thoughts with the 95 Blazer?

I stand corrected
Start with a compression test on all cylinders
