Hi I have a 95 GMC Jimmy with real problems I'm told that the 95 has some real problems so if that is so some one out there must have had this also. PLEASE HELP.
This is my problem the car runs perfect no problem there! RIGHT after driving for a bit or Idling the Tach Spikes to about 3000 rpms volt meter jumps up and down and she stalls. sometime i can't get it runing again for a day. Its like all of a sudden a big miss and then she goes nuts. it's been towed four time and back to changing parts. This is what i've changed so far, A new gas tank and fuel pump, new fuel filter, New Eprom, New computer, new IAC valve, new MAP, New TPS sensor, New cap rotor plugs and wires, two New coils, New Ignition Module, New EDI, New o2 sensor, Reparied with new fuel inlet and out let line. Inspected Manifold tuning valve, it's been on a shop conputer three times. as you can see i've put a great deal of money into this car it's a great car perfect paint new tires brakes and flames painted under clear coat. I own three other blazers and love the cars. I also own two Mustangs and my toy 86 SS El Camino. I love tinkering and dressing up my cars but this one i'm LOST. Even the Gargae I go to for hard stuff is a bit lost but not afraid to have me come back and charge some more. The only thing i have not bought is a bag of MARSHMALLOWS for it. is the 95 a bad one? does anyone have somewhere I have not looked? is there a FIX? can it be Fixed? I've become afraid of this car.
Please help I need it, Thank you in advance,
Bruce

I say go for the marshmellows lol. J/K
I got a 95 and it would act like yours and I found the problem by mere chance. All it was, was a bad wiring plugin. I still have not fixed it properly yet. I started my truck then started moving around wires. when I bumped a wire the truck went all funny and stalled. Thats how I found the prob. Try it and see what happens. I'll take a pic of my problem area to give you an Idea.

no service engine light?
AFTER IgnChargingPcm/Ground system testing i would try IAC/TPS.

Have they tested the fuel pressure? One common problem with all of the CPI motors is the FPR going bad leaking fuel into the intake. Even if you haven't had the fuel pressure checked for leak down, I'd pull off the upper plenum cover and have a look inside. You can even pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks (do not attempt to start it though). You may need a new upper plenum gasket, however.

Mine's fine. Of course, other mechanics never get to work on it.
How is the base timing, the egr sustem and the cleanliness of the intake itself?
