95 jimmy strong gas white smoke

Default 95 jimmy strong gas white smoke

95 jimmy 4x4 w code 4.3 Plenum top 209,000 miles
Jimmy at idle white smoke not that bad but very strong rich gas smell at exhuast.
strong gas smell in engine bay
as I was driving home just a little puff of white smokeat lights still a strong gas smell.
home checked
no water in oil.
no oil in water.
removed Plenum seen leaking fuel pressure regulator.
replaced regulator sprayed some stp cleaner tried to clean some carbonout.
pulled fuel injectors sprayed stp cleaner down them and they looked good stuck em back in
cleaned plugs put them back in.
upper Plenum gasket looked good put back on


........I did not torge anything .............
............should i have ???............

............I dident replace upper Plenum gasket ..........
should I have ????

now this is where Iam at
strong rich gas smell at exhuast and alot of white smoke major smoke show
no strong gas smell in engine bay
changed oil and filter
someone said put some bardals seal stop leakin
now I have 5 qts oil and 1 bottle bardals in
still heavy white smoke and exhuast still smells rich
I started cleaning and checking sensors and connectors
maf/map how can I tell if thats bad I have no meters
passenger side plugs oil fouled.
I still have notchecked o2 sensers and egr
(retired po boy under shade tree)

the major smoke you have now is probably from cleaning the plenum....You should do a compression check to be sure theres not a bigger problem...

Check your coolant level...

Usually a rich/sweet kind of smell from the exhaust means burning coolant...

Ran1/3 pt seafoam through brake vac hose.
ran for about 20 min at about 2000 rev's
put another 1/3 pt in same way
ran another 20 some minutes
heavy white smoke GONE just a little puff
I'll post up date if anything changes

I just went through a failed head gasket....coolant was being ingested at the rear drivers side cylinder. it started out as a bit of smoke. (not just a puff) and rapidly became a ton of smoke.
check your oil frequently for signs of coolant and keep a good eye on your coolant level and engine temp, I was seeing droplets of coolant on the inside of my oil filler cap also.. I would be conserned about your wet plugs. If you have accsess to a compression guage it would at least give you a better sence of whats happening inside your engine. I hope all works out well for you..
