95 S10 4x4 3 Button 4WD Switch Replacement
Hey, so long story short my 3 button 4WD switch was out of it's casing and it happened to contact some metal and short out. I am going to get a new one however in the meantime does anyone know a way to wire in a temporary switch that I can toggle between 2 and 4Hi? Or a way besides the switch to lock the transfer case into 4wd mode? Just looking for something to get me by for awhile as we have a ton of snow here at the moment.

The buttons on the switch itself do not seem like a toggle, however the switch circuit could convert the interrupt switch into a toggle, I have not taken a really close look at it. Was hoping someone had experience with this already!
Thanks

I completely replaced my 4wd switch with a set of momentary toggle switches. I have some pics of it in my "auxiliary switch panel" thead. Also, I posted a pic of the wiring diagram in a different thread. Think is was called "4wd switch diagram" something like that.
The 4wd switch is just a momentary toggle, with some lights in it Super simple. You might be able to rig up a cheap switch just to get you by until you replace it
Edit: here's the wiring diagram. Mine is a 95 three button switch as well

Awesome, thank you. Lots of good information. So if I want to keep the transfer case in 4Hi all the time I can just touch the gry/blk and pnk wires and it will kick it into 4hi?
Edit: Also I assume me shorting the board could have blown a fuse, any idea where those fuses in the top of the diagram are?
