Default 95 S10 Blazer 4.3 Cooling/Overheating

Hello...new to this site...but I need some help. I have had some overheating issues with my 95 blazer and this is what I have done so far...I have changed the thermostat, radiator cap, water pump, both upper and lower hoses, belt, and today I changed the temperature sensor. I went out for a test drive and the gauge flirted just past half, then back down, then back up, and down...so on. Got home popped the hood, it was slightly smoking from radiator area...let it cool, I checked the radiator and the fluid level was still full....what is wrong with this thing...could it be the radiator, the fan is working...any suggestions other than setting it on fire? lol....help.

Wow you did changed everything....When you say "the gauge went up then back down" was that the first time driving it after you changed the water pump etc., You could of had a air bubble that went away when you drove it, Causing you to go low for a moment until it pulled fluid from the res. bottle. If not have you tried reading the temp manually to see if the gauge is just malfunctioning

Use the 'search' function for 'purge air in coolant', etc for discussions on how to do this. I've posted it several times.

Thanks guys, I have heard about that before, the air in the radiator, I will try that. My heater core is bypassed, so that shouldnt be the problem. Thanks for the info. I will let you know if it works...or not...lol...my luck I will be back looking for more answers to my madness...
