Learned a few things! Youtube works, (I could tell immediately what the problem was by listening the audio) Duralast parts are junk, (even when new), and how to replace a starter! Glad it's fixed, thanks for posting back.

Well.. to be expected when even AC Delco's can be bad out of the box!

I'm wondering if you cant just use the old style cap and rotor. That cap is a bad design if they arent going to megger the things in production.

Sloppy mold work makes for crap, doesnt matter what the original designers meant to do.

Default One more question

I had one more question that will hopefully just be easier to ask now instead of me wasting time. I believe there is oil leaking somewhere on the back of the ending. It drips off the transmission, was on the starter, and in that general area. Any quick ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks

Check the rocker arm cover gaskets, fairly common issue. Also check along the rear of the intake manifold, (by the distributor) where it meets the block & heads. It uses an RTV sealant there and with expansion and contraction, over time it loses its seal.
