#22
ok so i got the pan dropped as far as i can but i cant get it to move any further or get the pan to come out. i did however get my arm in as far as i could and found out that its number 6 sucks cuz its really tight on my arm, hopefully someone can tell me what size the nuts on the rod are and any possiblity of getting more room would be more than appreciated.
theres a video on the way so that you all can see exactly what im dealing with and better help me out.
edit/update~somwhow managed to get some more room was able to get a socket on the number 6 rod bolts yet i cant get it to turn.
if anyone has tools near little rock ar ar wants to help i wont stop you :P
also the socket i could get onto it was a 9/16 is this the right size or what im afraid of stripping it because im getting low on cash

Did you try turning the engine over with a wrench so that the first crank counterweight is up, and then move the pan backwards; turn the engine so that the next counterweight is up, move the pan backwards...and so on?
On the 2WD the pan should be able to come out fairly easily.
The rods are going to be tight depending upon where a cylinder is at in the 4 stroke cycle. Turn the engine over by hand to get each piston/rod at the bottom of the cylinder and then just a tiny bit more to take the pressure off of the rod bearing.
Keep at it and let us know what more you find.
Good Luck.

yeah its not so much the weights thats the problem its more of the pan hitting the trans and when looking inside i can see the pump and by feeling i can tell that the strainer goes almost entirely to the bottom of the pan when mounted so i dont know maybe i dont have the engine lifted up enough?
oh and i got one rod nut off but the other one (the one thats always behind the number 5 rod) when ever i go to turn my ratchet (with 9/16 just like the other side) i get about 1/8 of an inch before it pops off, maybe the rod mount is under pressure or something and causing it to pop off? idk what do you guys think?
ok so i was able to get the second nut off and i got the old bearing off:

new bearing on top old on bottom and now i have a new delimma how does the top one go on? does the notch on the bearing go on the same side or opposite sides? cant see as i still couldnt get the pan off and cant really feel which side the notch is on, on the rod
