Default 96 blazer engine and transmission in a 98 shell...

I just bought a 96 Blazer LS 4x4 with 107000 miles on it but the body and suspension are pretty shot, and I have a 98 Blazer LS 4x4 shell that I took the transmission out of for another project but the head gaskets are blown on the 98 engine. My question is, Will this be a direct swap? I know that there are differences in the 2 trucks but I'm not 100% sure what all I will have to do to get this swap to work or if it's just a R&R set up. Any help will be very much appreciated.

I am not 100% sure but I think it is a direct swap, maybe a few different sensors and what not but I know the long block is the same. I believe the transmission is also the same.

Awesome! Thank you for the reply, it would seem that just swapping in the long block would be the easiest route in the scenario so that is probably what will end up happening.
