96 blazer starting problems
It started having diffeculty starting about a week ago. Has been running with a miss until it warmed up. Now it won't start-just cranks with an occasional sputter. fuel pump turns on with key. Pressure when cold is 49, then slowly loses 3 or 4 pounds over 10 - 15 minutes. If i put gas in the throttle body it starts - and will continue to start unless i let itsit for awhile. When it starts pressure flutters between 50 & 54. when i turn it off and turn the key pressure is at 54 - 56. any ideas ???????? Thinking fuel pump, but don't want to find out after that it isn't...
It's definitely the fuel pump. Pressure should be at 55-61 psi at crankup. Once the engine cranks, pressure can be lower to sustain the engine, but it definitely should be much higher than that.
Sorry, dude...you gotta drop that tank! [:@]
The good news is that if you run a search, you'll find that a lot of people here have done it already, including myself.
