97 blazer LT help
i need some help here i have a 1997 s10 lt blazer.........it all starts when my dash illumination went out.......but the display that says the temp and etc is still on......thought it was the fuse, turns out i blew litterally like 10 so far.so i thought wiring.........then suddenly my radio dies on me.....and today......my truck was acting like the vacum line was off the one part, it was going between .7-2.5 on the tach (forgot at the moment what its called) turned it off, ran just fine......
idk, what does it sound like to you guys.....
trans, 4wheel drive, radio, illumination that have known, x2 may i say.....and i think theres a coolant leak someplace (or so i think), because ill be driving then ill taste/smell something sweet i once in a while think somethings burning, kinda like rubber, so i was thinking it could be wiring, but then it goes away, my truck uses like no fluids tho and never burnt anything
i replaced all of those fuses and still nothing btw

Probably goes away shortly after you start smelling it as the fuse likely blows taking away the power to the defective circuit. I think you should take a look under the dash.

Well it also started after i tryed to ground amp and subs, it ran fine, then i took them out, because i couldnt find a good grounding spot, then after that eveything started happening but i was going to start replacing all of the fuses to see if it gives me something to work with, i might plug it into a scanner tomarrow afternoon, to see if it gives me anything
i had the amp grounded straight to the body, the power was comming from the battery, and the rradio was installed thru the factory harness thingy, every thing worked fine, except the remote wire didnt really seem to work, i didnt get power to the subs when i went to the cd, but had power to them when i was on the FM
I was expecting you to say you'd tied onto a big red wire under the dash. But with the power these newer amps draw, you have to run it to the battery. The amp and subs probably have nothing to do with your problem. Do what Kyle said and pull the panels off from under the dash, get a flashlight and look around for a wire or wires that have the insulation burned, they might be brown or the insulation will be lumppy instead of smooth. If you find any, write down the colors and their location, then post back what you find. Good luck.
