Default '97 Blazer Starter Replacement

This morning my Blazer suddenly would not start. No turnover whatsoever so i am pretty confident it is the starter. If someone has otehr suggestionsfor what it might be, please share. I have replaced some simple items before (water pump, alternator, ignition switch) but have never replaced a starter on any vehicle. My first questions are where is it and is there any guide on how to replace it? If replacement isn't any worse that the ignition switch i should be fine doing it myself but need some type of guidance to get started. Any help would be appreciated.

its pretty easy to do, just two bolts holding it it, and two bolts holding wiring on. If you crawl under the passenger side of the truck, right behind the front tire, and look at the front of the tranny, its right there. I suggest taking off the passenger frnt tire and then removing the wiring from the starter. then go under the truck and get at the starter. The hardest part of removing and replacing the starter is twisting it around and such to get it out and back in.

Have you checked for corrosion on the battery cables?

harrygees, welcome to the forum.
Please do not revive an old post for what appears to be a completely different problem.
It's ok to start a new post and chances are that more people will look at and respond to a new post.

You should be able to buy starter shims at just about any aftermarket parts store.
